The credential built
for Chiefs of Staff.
Not a generic leadership course. Real frameworks from 20+ years of CoS work, built into a certification you can point to, a credential you can use, and a community that actually understands the seat.

Sound familiar?
The CoS role is hard to explain.
Even harder to get right without a map.
✕
You can't explain what a CoS does in one sentence, even when you're living it every day
✕
The principal relationship is improvised. No system, no shared language, no reset mechanism
✕
You applied for CoS roles and heard nothing back, or accepted one and discovered it wasn't what it said
✕
Cross-functional influence only works when relationships are good. You need it to work regardless
✕
You're the most senior CoS you know. There's no one to ask when the situation is genuinely hard
✕
No portfolio, no credential, no clear story for what comes after this seat
Two Tracks
Start where you are.
Both tracks certify you. Both include worksheets, capstones, and a verified credential. The difference is what you're starting from.
Track 1 · Aspiring CoS
Aspiring Chief of Staff
For people doing CoS-adjacent work without the title, preparing for their first seat, or currently in a role that doesn't match what was promised. You know you'd be good at it. This gives you the proof and the framework.
Module 1: The Role Decoded
Module 2: The Principal Relationship
Module 3: Operating Systems
Module 4: Strategic Execution
✕Can't articulate what a CoS does in one confident sentence
✕No framework for reading and managing the principal relationship
✕Applied to roles and heard nothing back, or got in and realized the scope was wrong
✕Self-taught with no credential and no portfolio to point to
Track 2 · Senior CoS
Senior Chief of Staff
For practitioners already in the seat who need advanced frameworks for what the role demands at altitude. You're operating. This gives you the language, the tools, and a deliberate plan for what comes after.
Module 5: Communication & Influence
Module 6: Crisis & Ambiguity
Module 7: Org Design & Change
Module 8: Board Dynamics
Module 9: Career Transition
Module 6b: Sustainability
✕Cross-functional influence is inconsistent. Depends too much on the relationship
✕Learning board dynamics in real time, in front of the board
✕You're the most senior CoS you know. No peer group at your level
✕No deliberate plan for what comes after this seat
What You Get
Not just videos.
Every lesson comes with a worksheet, a knowledge check, and a capstone that proves you can apply what you learned.
Video Lessons
On-camera lessons from a practitioner who built these frameworks in real roles. Not adapted from corporate training theory.
Worksheets Per Lesson
Every lesson has a downloadable worksheet. You run the frameworks on your own role, not a case study.
Module Capstones
Each module ends with a capstone that builds your actual CoS portfolio. Evidence you can use in your next negotiation or interview.
Verified Credential
Issued through Certifier. Valid for 24 months. Shareable on LinkedIn. Recertification keeps it current.
Knowledge Checks
Module assessments test application, not recall. You prove you can use the framework, not just describe it.
1:1 Review (Senior Track)
Senior CoS capstones get personal review from Sherita before the proctored exam. Not automated grading.

I've spent 20+ years doing Chief of Staff work before anyone called it that. Across a large financial services company, a major healthcare company, and a publicly traded real estate technology company.
The pattern was always the same. I found the problem no one else had named, built the system that solved it, and documented it so the next person didn't start from zero. At the healthcare company, I identified a structural misalignment that had gone unaddressed, brought it to senior leadership without being asked, and built the framework that aligned four departments around the accounts most at risk. Every account was retained. At the real estate technology company, I joined when the sales org had one person and a shared folder. I built the operating infrastructure from scratch. I identified revenue risk through analytics I built myself and brought it to leadership before it became a crisis. The team scaled.
Every lesson in this course came from something I had to figure out the hard way. There was no playbook, no certification, no peer who'd done it before me. CoS Certified exists because I built what I needed and no one gave it to me. Now you don't have to start from zero either.

Questions
Before you join the list.
The Aspiring CoS track (Modules 1 through 4) covers the foundations: defining the role, the principal relationship, operating systems, and strategic execution. It's for people getting into the seat or trying to get the role right. The Senior CoS track (Modules 5 through 9) covers what the role demands once you're operating at altitude: communication across power, crisis navigation, board dynamics, org design, and career transition planning. Both end in a verified credential.
No. If you're already in the seat and operating at a senior level, start with Track 2. The Senior CoS track assumes you understand the basics of the role. If you're not sure which fits, the free sample (Lessons 1.1 through 1.3) will help you figure that out before enrollment opens.
When you join the waitlist, you get immediate access to the full written content of Lessons 1.1, 1.2, and 1.3: the CoS Clarity Framework, the Duty Audit, and the Three Archetypes. This gives you a real sense of the curriculum's depth and format before you commit to anything.
Credentials are issued through Certifier and are valid for 24 months. They're shareable directly to LinkedIn and include a verification link so employers and principals can confirm authenticity. Recertification is required at renewal, which keeps the credential meaningful.
Self-paced with 12-month access. You move through the modules on your schedule. The Senior track includes a 1:1 capstone review that's scheduled by appointment, but the coursework itself is fully asynchronous.
I'm Sherita Grinter. I've spent 20+ years doing Chief of Staff work at a large financial services company, a major healthcare company, and a publicly traded real estate technology company. The pattern was always the same: find the problem no one else named, build the system, document it so the next person doesn't start from zero. That pattern repeated across three organizations over 20+ years. CoS Certified exists because I built what didn't exist. Every framework in this course is something I built and used in a real seat. None of it is adapted from a generic leadership curriculum.
